BTech student hangs self

Noida: A Btech 2nd year student allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself from the ceiling fan at his hostel room on late Sunday night, said police.
The deceased identified as 21-year-old Rupanshu hailed from Raebareli district. He was an engineering student at JSS engineering college, situated at sector 62 in Noida and lived in Annapurna Hostel in Bishanpura village of Sector 57.
According to police, Rupanshu was alone at his room as his friend had gone home after giving his examination on October 28. Rupanshu did not take the exam. On Saturday night, he had dinner and gone to his room to sleep. His friends raised a concern when he didn't come out of the room for the next day. On Sunday night, they knocked the door but he didn't reply. The friends then peeped through the window of his room and found him hanging from the ceiling fan. They immediately alerted the hostel warden and other friends who informed police about the incident.
"After receiving the information, a police team reached the spot and broke the door of his room. He was taken to the hospital where doctors declared him brought dead. The actual reason behind the death of the student cannot be ascertained but some of his friends said that he was under depression after his mother's death. We have recovered no suicide note from the spot," Rajeev Kumar Singh, circle officer, Noida.
