Brother, 7 others held for arranging supari killing

Anti Auto Theft Sqaud (AATS) of South District had foiled a supari killing bid of the proprietor of Taj Orient Hotel situated in Agra with the arrest of eight supari killers belonging to infamous Inter-State gang of Harender alias Heavy after a brief encounter near Vasant Kunj (south).
The man identified as Chander Shekhar and his close aide Shambhu were in continuous touch with Vijay Naagar, who had given a contract for Rs two crore to eliminate the target Krishan Kumar Sharma to the dreaded gangster Ravi Roopwaas.
The cops, however, foiled the murder bid after arresting the accused brother Chander Shekhar Sharma(67), Shambhu Sharma (39) and Ravi Kumar alias Ravi Roopwas (32).
During investigation, continuing human and technical surveillance of the suspected characters revealed that dreaded criminal Ravi Roopwas, infamous for executing contract killings in Noida and other districts of western Uttar Pradesh, had tasked the arrested Ravi Roopwas on behalf of Shambhu and one Vijay Naagar.
"Dispute had been brewing between the two brothers Krishan Kumar Sharma and Chander Shekhar over the partition of business of a hotel in Agra.
"This dispute led Chander Shekhar to involve his close aide Shambhu and through him, Vijay Naagar, into hatching the conspiracy to eliminate Krishan Kumar Sharma. Shambhu and Vijay Naagar contacted Ravi Roopwas and awarded the contract for Rs two crore to kill the brother," said Chinmoy Biswal, Additional DCP South.
