Ghaziabad: A middle aged woman's dead body was found in a sack outside a house in Shivpuri area, Ghaziabad on Tuesday morning.
Police found a railway ticket from the spot which helped them to identify the deceased lady as Pushpa, 35, who worked as a vendor in railways in Delhi and lived in a rented accommodation in Vijay Nagar area with her daughter and mother-in-law. Her husband had died few years ago.
"Teams are on job to ascertain the actual reason behind the crime. Based on the investigations so far, illicit relation appears to be a probable cause of gruesome murder. A complaint in the matter has been lodged at Vijay Nagar police station and a team has been constituted to investigate the matter and nab the criminals," said Manisha Singh, circle officer, Ghaziabad.
The death came to light when the landlord of the house came out on Tuesday morning. He spotted a sack that was lying outside his house and opened it, finding the woman's body. He immediately alarmed police about the incident. Thewoman's face was partly decomposed.
"The body has been sent for the post mortem, reports of which are awaited. An eye witness told us that the assailants were travelling on motorbike and they had dumped the woman here. However he could not identify the motorcycle or the criminals," added Singh.
