Body of housewife, suicide note found at in-laws' residence in Murshidabad

Kolkata: Mystery shrouds the death of a housewife whose body was found inside her in-laws' residence at Berhampore in Murshidabad on

Friday morning.

The incident triggered tension among locals who found the victim hanging from the ceiling fan of a room.

She was immediately taken to a nearby hospital where she was pronounced brought dead by the doctors. After being informed police reached the hospital and sent the body for an autopsy.

The victim has been identified as Anindita Ghosh Goswami. Police have started a case of unnatural death. The family members of the victim also lodged a specific complaint at the local police station in this regard. They told police they were informed by the victim's in-laws on Thursday night that she was ill. The family members of the woman also alleged that she was subjected to both mental and physical torture at the hands

of in-laws. The woman got married to one Abhisek Ghosh of the same area around three years ago. The victim's husband allegedly used to torture her right after their marriage. Police are yet to verify the allegations brought by her family members. The investigating officers found a suicide note from the house of the victim. The sleuths are yet to ascertain if she committed suicide or there was any foul play behind the incident. They are examining the suicide note and have already detained some family members of the victim's husband in connection with the incident.
