BJP's newly elected Gzb mayor takes oath

Ghaziabad: Bhartiya Janta Party's newly elected mayor from Ghaziabad, Asha Sharma, took oath on Tuesday along with 100 councilors of Municipal Corporation in Ram Leela grounds of Ghanta Ghar in Ghaziabad.

On the occasion, present were, Member of Parliament and Minister of State for External Affairs General (Rtd) V.K. Singh who was the chief guest at function.

Meerut Divisional Commissioner Dr. Prabhat Kumar administered the oath to Sharma while the new Mayor administered the oath to the 100 councilors at the ceremony.

Speaking on the occasion Dr. Kumar said "the newly elected mayor will find her duty increasingly onerous as the corruption in Ghaziabad Nagar Nigam is widespread. The complaints of corruption are very often reported to us in the divisional office. We wish all the good luck to the new mayor in order to deal with all the challenges and putting efforts to combat corruption and other such illegal practices".
