Bizman robbed of Rs 4L at gunpoint in Adarsh Nagar

New Delhi: A businessman from Panipat was robbed of Rs 4 lakh at a busy red light near a metro station in northwest Delhi on Sunday. Police said that the robbers had masked their faces with handkerchiefs and helmets while committing the crime.

The investigating agency said that the accused had broken the window of victim's car with a hammer and threaten him with a gun. The victim, identified as, Anil Arora has mobile phone business following which he had came to the city from neighbouring state.

He was accompanied by his cousins in the car at the time of robbery on Sunday night. He was returning home in Panipat from the Gaffar Market.

According to an officer when Anil and his cousins reached the red light near the Majlis Park metro station, four men arrived from behind and broke a window of his car with a hammer and fled with a bag containing Rs 4 lakh after threatening the duo. The robbers had hidden their faces with handkerchiefs and helmets.

The victim in the case Anil said that they had stopped their vehicle after the traffic light turned red. They were talking to each other suddenly the car window was broken and robbers kept the pistol on his chest and started asking for money. "They used vulgar words and threatened us by showing pistols. One of the accused took our bag and the other robbers had surrounded our car. Within one minute they committed the crime and fled," said Anil.

DCP (Northwest) Vijayanta Arya said a case of robbery has been registered and a hunt is for the robbers. "We are investigating the case from various angles," an officer said.

Investigators have started scanning the dossiers of the criminals with the same modus operandi used during the robbery. Raids are also being conducted at various places to nab the accused.
