Biker booked for crushing pregnant canine to death

Greater Noida: A biker has been allegedly booked by police for driving rashly and killing a female pregnant dog in Badalpur area of Greater Noida. Police officials said that the post mortem reports confirmed that there were three to four unborn pups which were also killed in the incident.

According to police, the incident took place on Tuesday morning in Dhoom Manikpur Village under Badalpur area of Greater Noida. The accused identified as Binnu (22), a native of nearby village, was driving his motorcycle rashly and allegedly crushed a female dog which succumbed to injuries while getting treatment at the district veterinary hospital.

"Based on the complaint filed by Manzoor Ali, owner of the dog, a case under Indian Penal Code (IPC) sections 279 (rash driving) and 479 (mischief by killing or maiming animal) has been registered against the accused. We are yet to make any arrest into the case, however, further investigations are underway," a senior police officer of Badalpur police station said.

The officer further said that the dog was two months pregnant at the time of incident.

"It was a female pet dog who died in the incident. As per the post mortem reports, it was found that the dog was pregnant and there were three to four unborn pups in the womb who were also killed" the officer added.

The owner of the dog said that the intensity of the collision was such that the dog flung into the air and fell into a drain few meters away. He further demanded stringent actions against the accused person.

Other residents of the village said that the accused usually ride his bike very rashly and at a high speed. He is absconding since the incident, said residents
