Bike-borne snatchers rob female journalist near ITO

NEW DELHI: A journalist was robbed of her purse by bike-bore assailants on Sunday evening near ITO.
Police said the incident was reported around 5.30 pm, when her purse containing her iPhone, Rs 10,000 in cash and some documents was snatched.
The woman works as a news editor with a newspaper, with its office at ITO.
The crossroads at ITO have been a haven for snatchers for a long time now, with easy connectivity of roads providing them to multiple routes to flee towards Noida and Geeta Colony, towards Pragati Maidan, towards Minto road and towards Delhi gate.
Several journalists and working people at ITO have been a victims of snatching.
Though the area is located metres away from the Delhi Police headquarters, police have not curbing snatching on these roads. Despite barricades and heavy police presence in the area, snatchers on scooters and bikes targets and strike people at will.
People waiting for buses or walking with mobile phone are easy victims. Snatchers do not even spare auto-rickshaws, whose passengers they often rob and subsequently flee towards IP Estate area.
