Bike-borne assailants gun down man in Dwarka, two arrested

New Delhi: A man was shot dead by three armed assailants in Dwarka on Wednesday evening, with Delhi Police saying that they have arrested two men in this regard and are probing whether the incident was the result of a gang war or an act of revenge.
Sources told Millennium Post that the victim was identified as Firoz (30), a native of Bihar. The incident was reported in Dwarka Sector 23.
"The deceased was driving his car, when three armed assailants intercepted him in a motorcycle. Around six to seven rounds were fired at the deceased," sources added.
The arrested persons were identified as Sabir Hussain and Amzad Ali, natives of Siwan in Bihar and had come to Delhi two days earlier. The two were reportedly hired by one Rayees Khan, who is presently in jail in Bihar. "The two were nabbed by alert picket staff," said a police official.
The victim was rushed to the hospital where he was declared brought dead by doctors. "The case is being probed from every angle, which includes gang war as well as personal enmity," said a police source.
After the shooting, one of the accused took the car of the deceased to flee the spot. Later, the vehicle was found abandoned in Dwarka area.
In another incident, a Delhi Police constable died after he was hit by a truck in North West Delhi's Model Town area on Tuesday.
The deceased, identified as Vinod Kumar Malik (40), was declared brought dead at a local hospital in Model Town.
