Beautician arrested, robs woman of valuables

NEW DELHI: An 18-year-old beautician was arrested after complaints were lodged against her in Inderpuri for robbing women of valuables at their homes with a unique modus operandi.
The girl used to give cheap offers for make-up. The modus operandi was after applying make-up, she asked the women to close their eyes for an hour which they obliged and in the meantime, robbed their houses.
When Delhi Police received two back to back complaints about a make-up artist doing rounds in the neighbourhood and looting money with a unique style, they formed a team to get hold of the girl.
"This is a peculiar case where the accused girl targeted women in their own houses pretending to be a beautician. When she asked them to close eyes after the make up and not to open it until one hour, the women didn't suspect anything wrong. The woman when opened eyes realised they have been robbed," said DCP West Vijay Kumar.
The CCTV footage from the area was scanned and also the victims were asked to describe the accused girl in detail. With the help of the description, police finally succeeded in arresting the girl. "The girl Anjali was arrested. We have recovered jewellery worth Rs 1.5 lakh and Rs 24,000 cash from her possesion. Her boyfriend Sumit who works as a manager for gold branch in Shadipur has also been arrested," said Kumar.
