Bag containing Rs 5 L traced and handed over to passenger at Nizamuddin stn

NEW DELHI: The alert GRP staff of Hazrat Nizamuddin Railway station has traced and returned the bag of a passenger which contained `5.60 lakh.

On December 30 at about 9:30 pm, the complainant Rajeev Kumar Arora a resident of Kota, Rajasthan, age about 46 years reached Police Station Hazrat Nizamuddin Railway Station in a drunken state and started shouting that someone stole his bag containing 5 lakh 60 thousand rupees from Platform No. 1, Nizamuddin Railway Station.

A police team immediately shared the information with Inspector RPF and CCTV cameras footages were thoroughly checked.

All the places visited by the complainant at the Railway Station were instantly got checked through GRP/RPF staff and finally, the bag of the complainant was found kept near Deluxe Toilet situated at platform number-1.

The bag was checked in the presence of complainant wife & son and found intact. The total amount & belongings kept in the bag were found safe.

After tracing the bag, the passenger apologised and told that he came there for toilet and since he was under influence of alcohol, he forgot his bag and could not remember.

The Bag was handed over to the family members of the complainant, as no offence was committed and case was not registered for the same.
