Badarpur residents get Ganga water
NEW DELHI: The Delhi Jal Board on Wednesday started to give water connections in Gautampuri, Badarpur Assembly Constituency, which was assured by Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal in the first week of this month. Now, Ganga water will be supplied to their households. "Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has fulfilled his promise to the people of Badarpur Assembly constituency by supplying Ganga water to their households. The people of Badarpur will now have access to clean drinking water," said an officer of Chief Minister office.
Camps are being set up in the area to provide people with water connections. The Chief Minister on June 6, 2019 visited different parts of Badarpur assembly and spoke to people about their problems and assured them that Ganga water will reach to their households soon. "Arvind Kejriwal is the leader who is bringing dignity to the lives of people. Ganga water will now start running in our taps and sewer lines are also being set up," said a resident of Gautampuri, Krishna.
"It becomes very embarrassing when the women of the household have to step out with vessels just to store water. The women will be relieved once they have regular access to water. It's a ray of hope for us, as our children will not grow up facing these issues," Krishna added.
Anand, another resident of Govindpuri phase-1 said, "Arvind Kejriwal is the only Chief Minister to visit the little bylanes of our area to listen to our problems. This colony has not had regular access to water for the past 70 years, but our houses will now have regular supply of fresh water and we are very happy about it."
Similarly, Anjali from Ward 95, Gautampuri said that they faced a lot of water-related issues, and they had to travel long distances. But Chief minister Arvind Kejriwal on his visit ensured that soon we will have water flowing through their taps, which he has successfully done.
