Auto-lifters' gang busted, 3 held

New Delhi: Delhi Police on Sunday claimed that they have busted a gang of auto-lifters and arrested three persons including one dancer from MB Road, Pul Prahladpur. The accused have been identified as Shubham (22), Suraj (20) and Deepak (26). From their possession, 23 stolen motorcycles have been recovered.

Delhi Police press statement claimed that Shubham, the mastermind of the gang was passionate about dancing and used to perform in private events. His friends use to call him Dancer. One year back, he opened his own 'Muskan Dance Academy' in the area of Pul Prahladpur. Shubham further disclosed that he was not earning enough to meet his expenses. "In the meantime, he met one Deepak who was earlier arrested for auto-lifting. Deepak lured him to join him in auto-lifting. In order to earn quick money Shubham started stealing bikes with Deepak and they used to sell them at Meerut," said the press statement.

DCP (South East) Chinmoy Biswal claimed that, accused persons used to steal motorcycles from the area of South-East and South Delhi. On the instance of accused persons, their associate Deepak was arrested from Ghaziabad. From the possession and instance of accused persons, a total of 23 stolen motorcycles were recovered. Accused persons used to dispose of the stolen motorcycles to receivers at Meerut. Accused persons used to get Rs 5,000 for each bike. Motorcycle receivers used to sell the parts of the bike by dismantling them.
