ATM cheats held after gun battle
New Delhi: The Crime Cranch of Delhi Police arrested ATM cheats after a gunfight in near Nelson Mandela Marg on July 15. Police said that the accused person targets elderly people, and unsuspecting first-time users, or users with low ATM familiarity who could either fall prey to the offer of help or were simply hoodwinked by swapping their ATM cards.
Police identified the accused as Adil, Abid and Sakib. From their possession one pistol, one fired cartridge, two live cartridges, 95 ATM Cards, one Chevrolet car have been recovered.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (crime) Rajesh Deo said that on July 15, specific information was received that one gang headed by Sakib would be coming near Munirka Metro station. A trap was laid near Munirka Metro Station and a car was identified. They were chased by the police party and on Nelson Mandela Marg near Coolie Camp Red light.
