Atishi promises East Campus
NEW DELHI: In the first of its kind, the Aam Aadmi Party on Monday started publishing constituency wise manifesto. The first two such manifestoes were of East Delhi and Chandni Chowk.
Atishi, the East Delhi candidate, kept her focus on education and promised East Campus of the university while Chandni Chowk candidate Pankaj Gupta promised to work on decongestion of roads, markets and beautification parks. The party in its constituency-wise manifestos have promised to focus on women safety, providing employment opportunities and improving education.
"In East Delhi, education, employment, livelihood, cleanliness and environment are top priorities. We will focus on women safety and improving the law and order situation in the constituency. Women safety is a concern not just in JJ colonies but also in apartment complex areas," Atishi said while releasing the manifesto.
Her manifesto observed that East Delhi is home to professionals, teachers, artists, businessmen and daily-wagers, who contribute significantly to the economy and development of Delhi. Despite this, East Delhi has been long neglected by both Congress and BJP governments, reducing its taxpayers to second-rate citizens.
