Asees Chadha's bail plea rejected
NEW DELHI: Patiala House Court on Wednesday dismissed the bail plea of Asees Singh Chadha, who was arrested in connection with a car auto accident which killed a Turkmenistan national injuring two others on February 18. A case has been registered against Chaddha for allegedly ramming a speeding Bentley SUV into an auto-rickshaw at Vinay Marg area in which one person lost her life, said the police.
Asees (19) is the son of business tycoon Rajender Singh Chadha and the brother of liquor baron deceased Ponty Chadha. The police informed that a case has been registered under section 304 of the Indian Penal Code.
Police said the passengers in the auto-rickshaw were three women from Turkmenistan — Alma Gul Atayeba (33), Gulshat Alijanova (51) and Gulia Yyam (55). The driver of the three-wheeler was identified as Raghubir Singh, a resident of Sangam Vihar in south Delhi. Alijanova succumbed to her injuries while the other three are in critical condition at the AIIMS Trauma Centre, police said
Earlier, Delhi Police took one day remand of the accused Asees Singh Chaddha, a British Citizen and took him to the accident spot and reconstructed the sequence of events. Police wanted to cross check the accident occurred due to the high speed of the Bentley car Asees chadha was driving.
