All possible help for implementation of rainwater harvesting, assures DJB

NEW DELHI: Delhi Jal Board emphasized on the effective implementation of Rainwater Harvesting in Delhi as per the NGTs directions.

Further, he assured a financial grant of Rs four lakh to all District Magistrates (DMs0 for effective enforcement of Septage Regulation 2018.

Delhi Jal Board has organised ' workshop over a half day Sensitization-cum-training workshop on the subject of "mechanized sewage disposal, regulated Septage Management and Rainwater Harvesting" .

Presentations were made and discussion was held on Septage Management, Mechanized sewage disposal and Rainwater Harvesting by a panel of expert speakers.

Delhi Jal Board Chief Executive officer (CEO) Anil Kumar Singh addressed the DMs, ADMs and SDMs and briefed them on various initiatives of DJB focusing on proper enforcement of the Septage Management Regulation 2018 and to implement the standard operational procedures.

"The expert speakers highlighted the importance of effective implementation of Rain Water Harvesting structures and Septage Management Regulation Act 2018 for public welfare," said the Board spokesperson.

RS Tyagi, one of the eminent speakers and an expert on sewage management talked about mechanized sewage disposal and exhibited the mandatory safety procedure to the delegates of the District

Administration.

Shivali from Centre for Science and Environment (CSE) presented the new concepts and practices of Rainwater Harvesting in Delhi.

All the DMs, ADMs and SDMs were ensured of every possible help from DJB side for proper implementation of Septage Regulations 2018, mechanized sewage cleaning and building of Rainwater Harvesting Structures.

Delhi Jal Board is registering vendors for availing valid licenses for collection, transportation and disposal of septic tank waste at notified locations till February 11.
