Alert Prahari nabbed armed robber, rewarded

NEW DELHI: Alert 'Prahari' trained under community policing scheme launched by South West District and Staff of Vasant Kunj South arrested one desperate robber namely Sonu (33), a resident of Roshan Vihar, Phase 1, Najafgarh, Delhi. With his arrest, one country-made pistol along with case property and a mobile phone was recovered.

On the intervening night of December 21, information regarding robbery was received at PS-Vasant Kunj South and the informant reported that he runs a Pan-Ciggratte shop in Vasant Kunj, Delhi. At about 10.30 PM, when he was at his shop, two assailants came to his shop and threatened him to hand over cash available in drawer. On his resistance, both the assailants started assaulting him with a knife, caused injury on the head. Later they brandished a country made revolver and robbed Rs 30,000 and one mobile Phone Xiomi. When the assailants tried to flee from the spot, he raised a hue and cry. Acting on the call security guard namely Vikram who was on duty at D-7 Vasant Kunj, trained under 'PRAHARI SCHEME' few days back at Delhi Cantt intercepted one of the assailant and successfully overpowered him by showing great valour and courage while his associate manage to flee from the spot.

In the meantime, Beat officers of Vasant Kunj South also reached at the spot and apprehended the robber later identified as Sonu, a resident of Najafgarh, Delhi. For the alertness and good work Prahari Vikram was rewarded.
