AIIMS installs 33 water coolers

New Delhi: In a bid to provide the clean water to the patients and their attendants, All India Institute of Medical Sciences has installed 33 high capacity water coolers at its premises, donated by a trust Shri Girdhari Lal Dogra Memorial Trust, which is being headed by Sangeeta Jaitely, wife of Arun Jaitely, Union Finance Minister of India.

These high capacity water coolers are mainly available in OPDs where drinking water has not been fully available to the patients and attendants. The Trust has also donated modern water dispensing machines including online plumbed-in units, fountain type cooler machine and vandal resistant barrier free bottle filler stations, specially in private wards and academic areas. The newer facilities will provide 7,700 litres of additional water. This facility will also be provided in upcoming new blocks in AIIMS.

Prof Randeep Guleria, Director, Delhi-AIIMS, said this initiative has been taken to provide pure and chilled drinking water to patients and their attendants outside cancer and cardiology OPDs.
