Agra woman gang-raped in Greater Noida, two arrested
Greater Noida: A woman in her early thirties was allegedly gang raped by two persons at a flat in Parsvnath society of Greater Noida. Police have arrested both the accused on Monday morning while the rape survivor has been sent for medical examination, said police officials.
According to police, the arrested accused have been identified as Rakesh, a native of Agra and Aftabh Chaddha, resident of parasvnath panorama society in Swarn Nagri area of Greater Noida.
As per the information, the two accused lured the woman from Agra by offering her sightseeing in Greater Noida.
"As Rakesh was known to the woman, he allegedly lured her and brought her to Greater Noida in a car on February 23. She was then taken to flat number 1001 in tower-5 of parsvnath society which is owned by Chaddha. The two accused made her to have a drink laced with sedatives following which the woman fell unconscious and both the men allegedly took turns to rape her. Somehow, the victim called police on Sunday night and narrated her ordeal," said Ajay Kumar, Station House officer (SHO) of Kasna police station.
Police said that based on the complaint from victim, a case had been registered while both the accused were arrested from P-3 roundabout in Greater Noida on Monday morning.
"The arrested accused have been booked under section 376 D (punishment for gang rape) and 342 (punishment for wrongful confinement) of Indian Penal Code. They were presented before the court and were sent to jail. The victim has been sent for medical examination while further investigations into the case are underway," said Kumar.
A senior police officer of Kasna police station said that accused Chadda had been living alone in the flat while his father has served as a major in Indian Army.
