After tracing minor, police recover cash bag in five hours

New Delhi: A 45-year-old woman was arrested along with her daughter-in-law after they stole cash from a bag in the Shahdara district area. Police claimed that the accused had given the cash bag to her five-year-old daughter.
The story started when the police team received a PCR call around 12 pm on Monday about two thieves. A police team reached the spot in Rohtas Nagar area. "We found that a woman was going to the bank to deposit Rs one lakh in an E-Rickshaw. Meanwhile, two other women (accused) and a five-year-old girl was there in the vehicle. In some time, the woman felt that the money was missing from her bag and the women sitting nearby had stolen the cash. Both of them were caught and a PCR call was made," said a police officer.
Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (Shahdara) Ved Prakash Surya stated that at the spot the accused claimed that they have not stolen the money. Later, the minor girl was found missing. A team of Shahdara police station conducted the search and the girl was found roaming in the area. "Her mother had given the bag containing cash which was not found when we found her," said Surya. Police claimed that the girl told them that she had kept the bag with the vendor as it was too big and heavy for her. As per the description given by the child, the CCTV of the area was scanned and police team found the vendor in the footage. He told the police personnel that he had the bag but did not know what was inside. The bag containing cash was finally recovered in five hours' search. The team of Shahdara police station was led by SHO Yudhbir Singh.
