After endless complaints, Golf Course Road finally gets illuminated

Good news hails for commuters who use Golf Course road for their daily travels as LED enabled streetlights are being installed along the busy stretch.

As major projects like 1.2 kilometres Sikanderpur underpass and second phase of rapid metro almost complete, the authorities plan to add more LED enabled streetlights along the Golf Course road.

Presently, the new set of streetlights are being installed in the stretch passing through posh areas of DLF Phase -1, Sector 43 and Magnolias residential society.

Despite having high scale residential and commercial establishments, most of Golf course road was in dark for more than two years owing to various construction activities taking place in the area.

Lack of proper lighting in the area had resulted in a list of complaints by the residents, office goers and commuters to Municipal Corporation of Gurugram and Haryana Urban Development Authority.

"A lot of construction activities are going on at the Golf Course road for more than two years. Unfortunately the brunt has been faced by residents who reside along the Golf Course road. Lighting has always been of a major concern in the area. It further suffered due to the construction activities at the area. For more than two years the Golf Course road has mostly been a large dark spot," said Amandeep Singh who is a resident of DLF Phase -1

"The lack of streetlights along with poor road markings has made it difficult for the commuters who have to use the Golf Course road daily. With the set of streetlights along with the development of rapid metro and Sikanderpur, commuters are now finally expected to have a joyride at least in the initial stages of Golf course road," added Singh.

There has been a huge increase in the traffic at the Golf course road over the years in Golf Course renowned for high scale residential apartments, plush commercial complexes and a world class Golf course.

Golf Course road is also been used by commuters for their travels to Sohna road, Golf course extension road, Gurugram- Faridabad road, Sushant Lok and DLF Phase-4.

"Even though there are a lot of aspects that needs to be taken care, at least a start has been made by installing LED enabled streetlights on Golf course road," said Tripti Rai who works at a MNC which has its office on the Golf course road.
