Absconding man held for killing wife

New Delhi: Crime Branch of Delhi Police has arrested a 37-year-old who was involved in killing his wife. Police claimed that he was released on interim bail for a period of four weeks, but he did not surrender on the fixed date.
Police claimed that the accused was identified as Ravinder Chauhan, resident of Vijay Vihar. He had killed his wife in 2009 and after the murder, he surrendered himself in the police station Vijay Vihar. In 2011, he was convicted in the case to undergo life imprisonment. In 2016, High Court of Delhi had granted him four weeks of interim bail but did not surrender on the fixed date.
"He had been hiding at different places and surviving by doing some odd jobs," police said. A team was made under the supervision of ACP Aditya Gautam and the accused was arrested from Dwarka Mor. DCP (crime) Bhisam Singh stated that during probe, Chauhan disclosed that he murdered his wife in the 2009 on the suspicion that she was having an illicit affair.
