AAP afraid of defeat: BJP responds to AAP's allegations against ECI

New Delhi: Responding to Aam Aadmi Party's allegations of the Election Commission of India being biased towards the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party, the Delhi BJP on Friday said that these accusations are coming at this time because the AAP has foreseen its defeat in the Lok Sabha elections.

Addressing a press conference, Delhi BJP Media in charge Pratyush Kanth said that by leveling charges at independent constitutional authorities like the ECI, AAP has shown its mistrust in the Constitution of the country. At the press conference, he asserted that AAP's losses are going to be so massive that some of its candidates will lose their security deposits.

Reacting to AAP's allegations, Kanth said that the opposition party now has no option but to mislead the people of Delhi by bringing such ridiculous charges against the election regulator. He added that this is not the first time AAP leaders have tried to pull tricks like this. Kanth said, "Even before this, the Aam Aadmi Party held EVMs responsible for its defeat in the Elections to the Municipal Corporations. The EVMs against which it is raising questions were also used in the Assembly Elections in which the AAP won 67 out of 70 seats in Delhi."

Moreover, the Delhi BJP Spokesperson said that AAP leaders have previously also insulted institutions like the Supreme Court, CBI, and ED. He said that while coming up, the AAP had made several promises about fighting corruption, jailing corrupt Congress politicians, and also preparing a list of corrupt public officials.

"But after coming to power, Kejriwal changed and did nothing like this," Kanth said, adding that the AAP chief was even prepared for an alliance with Congress.
