7th Pay Commission will be announced soon: Javadekar

During the National Convention on Higher Education Perpectives in India, the Union Minister Prakash Javedekar assured the teachers that seventh pay commission is going to be announced soon and adhocism in teacher appointment in the universities, especially in Delhi University, would end within a year.
Union Human Resource Development Minister Prakash Javadekar also stressed on the autonomy of institutions and frame work of graded autonomy.
He also mentioned the fact that autonomy doesn't mean cuts in grants which the central institutions receive.
The two day conference was organised by the Akhil Bharatiya Shaikshik Mahasangha, at Deen Dayal Upadhyay College, Dwarka, which was attended by around 400 delegates from the 22 states.
While speaking on promotion scheme, based on API system, for teachers he said that existing scheme would be suitably amended so that API points based on research would not be linked with the promotions for college teachers.
He further said that research activities are very important and therefore research should be a part of promotion of teachers from University departments.
