75-yr-old found dead with her throat slit in Shalimar Bagh

New Delhi: A 75-year-old woman was on Friday found murdered with throat slit at her residence in north west Delhi's Shalimar Bagh area.
According to Delhi Police, the incident came to light around 4 am on Friday.
Police said the deceased septuagenarian, identified as Raj Rani, stayed alone in the house, with her two sons living nearby.
On Friday morning, one of her relatives entered the house, only to find it ransacked.
The person then found the victim lying in a pool of blood, with her throat slit.
As soon as the incident was reported to cops, senior police officials reached the residence of the victim and began a through investigation.
Her husband had passed away a few months ago and had been living alone ever since.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (North West) Aslam Khan said that it is suspeced that robbery was the motive behind Raj Rani's murder, was the house was found to have been ransacked.
"The old woman has stab injuries on her neck. Our team found the house ransacked and her valuables, like bangles and money, were also missing," she told reporters.
Investigators have found that the attacker(s) gained entry into the house without any resistance from the victim.
"Some plumbing and electric work was being carried out at her house. We have formed teams and are looking for the accused," Khan said.
Cops suspect that the plumber, sensing that the woman lived alone, could have murdered her with the intention to commit robbery.
They are now analysing CCTV footage of the area to find clue about the culprit.
Though the plumber is the primary suspect, police are investigating the murder from every possible angle.
Sources said that police have found certain leads in the case and are working on them to arrest the accused.
The relatives of the victims told Millennium Post that though her sons lived away from her, they used to visit their mother regularly.
