7-year-old boy falls into drain, rescue op on

Noida: A seven-year old child has fallen into an open drain in Sector 81 on Monday evening. Divers have started a rescue operation and are trying to rescue the child. According to cops, the boy identified as Saurabh, is the class first student at a nearby school. His father Ashok Kumar works as a labour and belongs to Ghaziabad.

Prashant Kapil, SHO of sector 39 police station said that the boy was playing near a drain after he came from his school. The incident took place around 3:45 and police were informed by the local around 4 pm. Immediately a police team was sent for the rescue of the boy and divers were also called.

"More than 12 divers have been called for the rescue but we failed to trace the body of the boy. Yet search operation is underway," police said.
