54-yr-old British man arrested for sodomising visually-impaired kids
New Delhi: Three visually- impaired minors aged between 14 to 15 years were facing sexual harassment for quite a longtime by a British national who was arrested from RK Puram area on Sunday.
Police claimed that they have asked the child specialist from AIIMS to counsell the children who faced the horror. Police sources said that they suspect that the accused might have a history of sexual harassment with minor children which will be revealed after an investigation.
Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (South) Chinmoy Biswal stated that a PCR call was received at RK Puram police station on Sunday at noon hours regarding sexual harassment of minor kids at National Association For The Blind (NAB) which is situated at Sector-5.
"Enquiry revealed that one Murray Ward, a British national and a frequent visitor, associated as a regular donor with NAB for the last 8-9 years had subjected three minors, all blind residents of NAB, to paedophilic sexual harassment on Saturday, September 2," said Biswal. A case has been registered in this regard under POCSO Act.
Accused Murray Denis Ward, permanent resident of Gloucestershire, Britain, 54, was working with Sterlite Technology Limited in Gurgaon till April 2017. In February 2017, he had suffered a paralytic attack and since then, has been under treatment.
Police sources claimed that the accused was a paralytic patient. During interrogation, his conditon are also been taking care as police will also scan the past life of the accused when after he came to India.
Police sources claimed that the incident was first seen by one of the staff in the association who informed other senior official and after seeing CCTV footage they made a PCR call.
Police also talked to children who revealed the incident to them. For better counseling, police roping a child specialist from AIIMS.
The accused, as per preliminary investigation, is found to be a pedophile. His cell phone is being examined.
"His MacBook contains a couple of objectionable video clips. The accused has been arrested and is being produced before the court for obtaining his PC remand," police said.
Police sources added that the accused had locked his phone as well as the personal computer. They are hoping for more clues after they open the gadgets.
