40-yr-old dies after tin sheet falls on him

NEW DELHI: A 40-year-old man died in an industrial accident inside a factory in north west Delhi on Sunday evening.

Police claimed that the deceased, identified as Jagannath Yadav, died after a tin sheet fell over him in the factory where he worked.

Yadav was living near the factory with his family in north west Delhi area and was working as a labourer.

The incident came to light when police received a call from one of the workers at the factory, located in Mahendra Park area.

Hearing Yadav's cry for help, his co-workers came running and managed to pull him out.

A police team was immediately rushed to the spot and the victim was rushed to the hospital. However, he was declared brought dead.

One of Yadav's co-workers told the police that Yadav was trying to repair one of the heavy machines at the factory, when the tin sheet fell on him.

Police have registered a case in this regard. The laborers also complained of poor working conditions at the factory.

On Sunday evening, family members all gathered outside the factory to protest.
