4 robbers, who assaulted man in GTB Enclave, arrested

New Delhi: A 45-year-old man was attacked with a knife by four criminals in robbery bid in GTB Enclave area of Shahdara district. Police have arrested the accused in the

case.

According to police, on the intervening night of 21-22 February at 12.40 am, the victim Ishwar Dayal was way laid by four criminals while he was on the way to his home from Gtb hospital.

"When he resisted, the victim was assaulted by one robber with a knife repeatedly inflicting 5-6 injuries at head, neck and mouth, and succeeded in robbing one mobile phone from the victim," police said. Deputy Commissioner of Police (Shahdara) Meghna Yadav stated that police team scanned footage from the CCTV cameras available near the place of occurrence. One camera was found that covered the incident. Efforts were made to identify the culprits from the footage.

"During the investigation, the team made detailed interrogation from one Gulshan who spilt the beans when he was confronted with the CCTV footage," said DCP Shahdara.

On his instance, three other accused Nikhil (22), Rahul Bisht (26) and Amit (24).

Police claimed that all the four accused persons have disclosed their involvement in 19 cases of robbery.
