4 cops sent to police line over alleged criminal charges
Ghaziabad: Four police officers, including the Station House Officer of Loni police station and three other sub-inspectors have been sent to police line by Ghaziabad senior cops after they were alleged to have been involved in different criminal cases.
According to police, Sanjay Pandey, SHO of Loni police station, Sachin Kumar Tomar, SI at Shipra Suncity police chowki and Anirudh Kumar chowki incharge of Nehru Nagar police chowki have been booked under charges of corruption.
As per reports, Tushar Goel, a government contractor, has alleged Pandey and two Sub-inspectors for trying to implicate him in a cheating and forgery case registered in September 2018 in which he is not even named as an accused. He has claimed that it was being done to extort Rs 2 lakh for him when Pandey was posted as SHO at Sihani gate police station.
Sudhir Kumar Singh, Senior Superintendent of Police, Ghaziabad said that based on the allegations and orders received from court, an FIR has been registered at Sihani gate police station and these officers have been sent to police line.
"An internal enquiry has been ordered into the matter which will be headed by Circle officer 2, Ghaziabad. Actions will be initiated after a report is submitted by the CO" said Singh. Apart from this, a lady constable at Modi Nagar police station area of Ghaziabad has alleged of being raped by a sub-inspector on pretext of marriage.
As per reports, the victim, aged 27 years, was posted at Govindpuri police chowki in Modinagar area around two years ago. This was the time when she met the 42-year-old sub-inspector who told her that he is a widower and proposed her for marriage.
A senior police officer from Modinagar police station in Ghaziabad told Millennium Post that both of them were into relationship from past two years.
"The victim told police that she agreed to the proposal made by accused and both of them decided to get into a relationship with each other, nearly two years ago. The accused made physical relations with her and when the woman asked him to marry her, he started denying and stopped all conversations with the victim," a senior police officer said.
The officer further said that the accused has mislead the woman saying that he is a widower but his wife is alive.
