35-yr-old man thrashed for refusing to have colours smeared on Holi battling for life

New Delhi: A 35-year-old man, who was thrashed brutally by hockey sticks for resisting attempts by miscreants who tried to smear colours on him during Holi, in currently fighting for his life in the hospital.by a group.
On March 2, while on his way to perform Friday prayers in north west Delhi's Shakurpur area, Abdul Mallik was attacked by a group of young men.
Cops said he is still unfit to give a statement and undergoing treatment at RML Hospital.
"A group of youth attacked him with hockey sticks when they tried to put colour on him. His condition is very serious," said Abdul Khaliq, the victim's younger brother.
Mallik works in an embroidery unit in Shakurpur. A resident of Madhubani, Bihar, he had come to Delhi 15 years ago.
After finding Mallik lying on the road, cops had found his Aadhaar card in his pocket and contacted the police station in his native place.
"Police told us at our native place that my brother had met an accident. When I inquired, I found out that he was assaulted and is admitted with grievious injuries to his head. He has not opened his eyes since then," Khaliq told Millennium Post.
"We have registered a case of attempt to murder and arrested the accused," said a senior police officer.
