33 held for loan fraud

Noida: 33 persons, including 17 women, were arrested by Noida police for allegedly duping people on the pretext of providing them loans.

Cops said that the accused persons have also registered a fake website through which they attract people for getting loans and ask them money on the name of processing fees and other charges but the loan were never delivered.

Vaibhav Krishna, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), Gautam Buddh Nagar said that the gang had been operating their office from a rented accommodation in sector 3 under Noida Sector 20 police jurisdiction.

"Police acted upon a complaint received from a victim who had alleged to have been duped by the gang by lakhs of rupees. A raid was conducted and police successfully managed to nab 33 persons including company's director Sanjay Singh, from the building on Wednesday," said Krishna.

"Preliminary investigations showed that the gang had been running the call centre and have also registered a fake website in the name of www.comradefinocone.com. The accused have used internet and other social media platforms for their advertisements. One firm of the gang has also been based in Aligarh and the local police has been informed," added Krishna.

Detailing over the Modus operandi, the officer said that the gang have hired tele callers who would call the targets and ask them to pay a hefty amount as processing fee and file charges respectively.

"Upon interrogating them, they told police that they have duped hundreds of people on the pretext of providing loans. The gang would ask the target to pay a hefty amount as processing and file charge which depends on the amount of loan. Also they used to lure people on the name of verified finance companies and banks. Once the amount is transferred into their bank accounts, the gang would stop receiving calls from the target," said Krishna.

Police have recovered several mobile phones, one computer along with several laptops, diary of the victim's and 18 mobile phones.

Meanwhile police are looking for two mastermind of the gang who has been identified as Anuj Gaur and Shbuham Gaur, both are native of Aligarh.
