3 sharpshooters nabbed

New Delhi: Three sharp shooters of gangster Sandeep alias Dheelu were arrested in a shootout with Delhi police early morning on Wednesday in Dwarka's Dhansa Najafgarh road on Wednesday.

Two of them have received bullet injuries while the third one was apprehended.

They were wanted eight to ten cases of extortion, robbery, car jacking, attempt to

murder.

They have been identified as Surjeet alias Polu (36), a resident of Rohtak, Haryana, Parmod alias Sonu (29) and Nishant alias Nishu (24), both are resident of Vijay Nagar, Bawana, Delhi.

Dheelu escaped from the police custody with the help of his associates after attacking the police team, while he was escorted to Maulana Azad Medical College Hospital for treatment in Feb,2018.

The team of Special Cell was assigned the task to arrest the Sandeep and his

associates.

On September, 25, reliable information was received that Surjeet and Parmod along with one more criminal are residing in their hideout at south Delhi and have a Honda Accord car and they will be visiting Jhajjar, Haryana.

Notorious gangster Sandeep alias Dheelu may also be accompanying them. While returning back they would take Main Dhansa Najafgarh Road to reach their hideout in South Delhi, said DCP Special Cell, Sanjeev Kumar

Yadav.

"Acting on a tip-off, a team of Special Cell laid a trap was on main Dhansa Najafgarh Road and the Honda Accord car was intercepted. On being directed to surrender, the occupants of the car opened fire at the police team. In self defense and in order to apprehend the criminals, police team retaliated and the above accuseds were arrested by the team in the shootout," DCP Sanjeev Yadav

said.

"Surjeet alias Polu sustained gunshot wound in right hand while Parmod alias Sonu was shot in right leg. Both the injured were immediately removed to Jafarpur Kalan Hospital for medical help while their third associate Nishant alias Nishu surrendered before the police," the DCP said.

In the shootout, an inspector was hit on his chest but was saved by the bullet proof vest he was wearing.
