27 Delhi Police officers conferred medals

New Delhi: As many as 27 officers, including six women officers of Delhi Police have been conferred Police Medal for their services on the occasion of 71st Independence Day.
Retired Deputy Commissioner of Police SK Giri has been awarded Police medal for Gallantary.
Joint CP Robin Hibu and ACP Suresh Chand Tyagi, have received President's Police Medal for Distinguished Service, along with 24 others for Police Medal for Meritorious Service on the occasion of Independence Day this year.
DCP Special Cell PS Kushwah has been awarded Medal for Meritorious Service, the officer in the year 2003, as ACP Secial Cell, unearthed, in the nick of time, the conspiracy hatched by terrorist organisation Lashker-e-Taiba to cause an explosion and terrorist attack at India Gate beside other achivements.
Joint CP Robin Hibu was instrumental in solving several sensational cases like Tihar Jail serial killer, UTI bank robbery, Hammer Man Killer, robbery at Reliance Industry, kidnapping cum murder case of an Interior Decorator.
As Deputy Inspector General, Arunachal Pradesh, he led a team which recovered Rs 15 crore in the heist of Anini treasury in Upper Dibang Valley.
Apart from their male counterparts, six women have also been awarded Police Medal for Meritorious Service, Inspector Nirmala and Sushila Kumari, ASI Kusum lata and Chanchal Bala, Head Constable Neeru Rani and Hema Pant.
