25k personnel to guard streets on R-Day

New Delhi: Multi-layer security arrangements are in place at strategic locations in Delhi for the Republic Day celebrations. Nearly 25,000 security personnel from the Delhi Police and central security forces have been deployed in Central Delhi.

According to police, Delhi Police Commissioner Amulya Patnaik is personally

supervising police arrangement at the ground level. Apart from the city, the security in the railways and Delhi Metro has also been heightened with more than 600 policemen keeping a tight vigil on every suspicious movement.
