25-yr-old woman's body found stuffed in suitcase

NEW DELHI: In a sensational incident the body of a 25-year-old woman, stuffed in a suitcase, was found in east Delhi on Tuesday night. Despite efforts, the woman has still not been identified. The suitcase was spotted by a man travelling in an auto-rickshaw on the roadside near the Kondli canal and alerted the police, said a senior officer.

After opening the suitcase, the police found the woman's body with her face down. The woman's face was slashed multiple times, said the police. She also had a name 'Mohit' tattooed on her hand.

The Delhi Police has started an investigation and is scanning CCTV videos of the area. The cops are focussing on the make of the suitcase to get some clue.

The police is now analysing the missing re[ports from Delhi and the adjoining areas matching the description of the woman found. Cops suspect the woman was murdered eslewhere and was stuffed into the suitcase and dumped near the canal at night to avoid getting noticed. Delhi police has preserved te body in the mortuary and is monitoring if any fresh case of missing is filed in any Police station of Delhi. It would only be clear after the post mortem if the woman was sexually assaulted before the murder.
