20-yr-old woman found dead inside house in Jahangirpuri

A 20-year old woman was found dead inside her residence in North West Delhi's Jahangirpuri area on Sunday. The woman's body was found by her husband and had strangulation marks on her neck.

The police questioned her husband after which he was let off.

The family has alleged that the landlord of the couple's house might be involved in the case.

According to a senior police official, the deceased, Rinku was married to Rajkumar for two years. Rajkumar who runs a Masala store lived with his wife in their rented accommodation in C-Block, Jahangirpuri.

The incident came to light on Sunday when Rajkumar came back home in the afternoon.

"Rajkumar had worked for some hours and later for some reason decided to return to his house. He found that the door was open and his house was ransacked. Many of his belongings inside his Almirah were found strewn around the house," said a senior police official privy to the investigation.

Following this, Rajkumar found his wife's body in the bedroom. He immediately called the cops who reached the spot with a forensic team.

The team found that the woman had strangulation marks on her neck and also some scuffle marks on her body.

"There were definitely signs of struggle inside the house. The entire house was ransacked and the woman had scuffle marks on her body which means that she had put up a struggle. Her body was taken to Babu Jagjivan Ram Memorial (BJRM) Hospital where she was declared brought dead. Primary medical analysis suggests that she was strangulated to death," the officer added.

Later, the cops picked her husband for questioning. "We have thoroughly interrogated him. So far, we have not found him to be involved in the murder and has been let off," the officer added.
Rinku's family members claimed that they too do not suspect Rajkumar because the couple never had any fights. Reportedly, they told the police that the land lord might be involved as he would constantly fight with Rinku.
