2 men who robbed Army man held

New Delhi: Two men were arrested for allegedly robbing an army man of his wallet and cell phone near Okhla railway station, the police said on Tuesday. With the arrest of the duo, police claimed to have solved eight cases of snatching. According to the police, the accused were identified as Danish, (22) and Deepak, (19). "Danish was arrested near Okhla Mandi and later his associate Deepak was nabbed," police said. On March 7 at around 8:30 pm, accused persons boarded a slow-moving train near Okhla railway station and targeted a victim who was seated near the gate of the train and was speaking on his mobile phone. Accused Danish snatched his phone and jumped from the train and ran away along with his associates.
Police claimed that victim also jumped off the train and chased the accused persons. Within no time, victim was surrounded by the accused persons. They caught him and started searching his pockets .''When opposed by the victim, one of the accomplice struck hard in his head and looted wallet containing an original Indian Army identity card, two Aadhar cards and cash Rs 1,300 and ran away from the spot," police said.
DCP (South East) Chinmoy Biswal stated that the gang used to board slow-moving trains near Okhla Railway Station and identify a target near the gate of the train. As soon as train slowed down, one of them used to snatch the targeted articles like mobile or bag and got off immediately while others used to block the passage of target by posing as passengers.
