2 men gunned down by miscreants in Ranhola, friend goes missing

NEW DELHI: In a sensational double murder, an Uber cab driver and his friend were shot dead by armed assistants in Outer Delhi's Baprola area on Sunday night. The bullet-ridden bodies of both deceased were found lying along Nangloi-Najafgarh road on Sunday around 10 pm.

Police is also searching for their third friend who is missing along with the bike they were travelling, making the matter more complicated. Police received a PCR call regarding the incident on Sunday night around 10 pm. A police team of Ranhola police station reached the spot and found the bodies with bullet injuries lying there.

Police have sent bodies for an autopsy at Sanjay Gandhi hospital, a senior police official said. The deceased have been identified as Deepak (21), a resident of Baprola, Ranhola and Neeraj Singh (21), a resident of Jal Vihar-phase-II in the same locality. Deepak was working as a cab driver in Uber while Neeraj was unemployed. Earlier, he was working as a delivery boy in Macdonald in Janakpuri, Delhi. Both deceased were shot at multiple times.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (Outer) Seju Kuruvilla said that the motive behind the killing will be ascertained only after the accused are nabbed. "The assilants shot both dead, dumped their bodies along roadside and fled from the spot. We are investigating the case with all possible aspects," said DCP, Seju Kuruvilla. Police said that there were three persons on bike at the spot. Two of them were shot dead while the third person and the bike they were riding on are missing.

"During the investigation, it was revealed that both youths were riding on a bike and their bike is missing. We are investigating the case, said additional DCP, Outer, Rajender Singh Sagar. It is still unclear if the third friend has been kidnapped by the assailants or something else has happened to him.

Some broken glasses of any vehicle on road and blood stains on divider have been found on the spot, police sources said.

Police is probing whether the deceased had any dispute with the accused and also talking to the family members of the deceased.
