2 held with Rs 2.4 cr ganja

New Delhi: The Crime Branch of Delhi Police has arrested two persons including a major distributor of Ganja (Cannabis) in the NCR area. Police recovered 800 kilograms of Ganja of more than Rs 2.4 crore.

Police identified the accused as Mohammad Kajim (26) and Dinesh Kumar (34). They were arrested near Bawana Industrial area, Main road, Bawana with the truck bearing Nagaland number.

Additonal Commissioner of Police (crime branch) Rajiv Ranjan said that during interrogation, Kajim disclosed that he came in contact with one Salam who is a drug trafficker. Salam supplies Ganja to several drug peddlers in Delhi and NCR area.

"About two years ago, Kajim started working for Salam. Since March 2019, Salam started sending Kajim to fetch Ganja from Andhra Pradesh. Kajim would reach Visakhpatnam by train. Salam would also reach Visakhapatnam by air, "said Additional CP.

He further stated that Salam would meet one Anand Pandey who had local contacts in Visakhapatnam. He is the one who arranges for the Ganja, the truck and the driver.

After Salam paid Anand Pandey, it was Kajim's job to travel back to Delhi on the truck loaded with Ganja. Dinesh disclosed that he met Pandey about two months ago. His job was to reach Visakhpatnam in an an empty truck.

After loading Ganja, Dinesh would come out and would drive back to UP, Rajasthan or Delhi, as directed by Anand Pandey. Often, some person associates with the buyer party would travel back with him.
