2 held in robbery bid

New Delhi: The Shahdara district officials on Sunday said that they have solved the case of attempt to bank robbery case. Police have arrested two accused in the case. The investigation in the case revealed that the accuse hatched the plan after they saw an Hollywood movie.

According to police a PCR call was received on July 2 at around 03:15 PM that two persons attempted to rob the Kotak Mahindra Bank situated at F Block, Bankers Enclave,Krishna Nagar.

There was a scuffle with the bank security guard stationed in Kotak Mahindra Bank who foiled the robbery attempt due to his bravery and courage. An FIR was registered u/s 394/397/34 IPC and 25/27/54/59 Arms Act, Krishna Nagar police station.

Deputy Commsioner of Police (Shahdara) Meghna Yadav said that CCTV Monitoring Teams were formed to scan CCTV footages inside and outside the bank to pick up all possible clues.

Gandhi Nagar police team examined all bank employees and verified antecedents of all workers in the bank. Several dossiers were scanned to check for any criminals matching the accused.

Later two accused identified as Prabhjot Singh (25) and Sukhdeo were arrested in the case.

Singh was involved in cloth trading business and suffered heavy losses. He hatched conspiracy along with Sukhdev and Inderjeet to rob the bank. He has no previous involvements. He is matriculation pass. He is the one who threatened the staff with fire round. He was inspired by the movie Baby Driver.
