2 held for kidnapping 10 days old child

New Delhi: Delhi Police on Monday said that they have solved a kidnapping case of 10 days old child in Saket area. Two persons including a woman were arrested in the case.

According to police, on September 28, they received a PCR call regarding quarrel at district Court in Saket. Later it was revealed that there was a quarrel between the complainant Meenakshi and one Ruby Khatoon.

Investigators said that the complainant stated that she was working in Gurugram, Haryana since last year and was pregnant. She met with Khatoon and became her friend over there. Deputy Commissioner of Police (south) Atul Thakur said that Ruby introduced one Rakesh Kumar as her husband and told her that their married life is very unhappy because of having no child since marriage.

On September 17, the complainant was blessed with a baby boy and the couple started to convince her to give the child to them.

"They also assured her that the complainant would be able to meet with the child as and when she wants to. They also assured her that the child would be returned to her after some days," police said.

They got some documents signed by her. The lady handed over her child to them but after some time while she tried to contact them, their phone was not reachable.

She also left voice messages and text message to return the child but they did not respond to any call and message. Later when the complainant came to know that Khatoon had come to the district court in Saket, she reached there and asked them to return the child but they started to quarrel with her.

During probe, Khatoon was arrested. She revealed that the kidnapped child is with his one known person named Mohammad Shah Mohammad. He was arrested and the kidnapped baby of the complainant was recovered.
