19-year-old held in Rohini for murder in north west Delhi

New Delhi: Delhi Police on Thursday arrested a 19-year-old from Rohini for the murder of a man in north west Delhi's Pitampura village.
The accused was identified as Mohammad Khurshid, a native of Samastipur, Bihar, who currently lives in Delhi's Pitampura.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (North West) Aslam Khan on Thursday said that around 1.05 am on January 30, a call was received at Rani Bagh police station that a young man had been stabbed with in Rama Market in Pitampura village.
A police party reached the spot and came to know that injured youth Nandan had already been shifted to Saroj Hospital in Rohini.
However, Nandan succumbed to his injuries at the hospital.
During investigation, a man Puran Lal also filed a complaint that some cash, a passport and identity cards belonging to Nandan had gone missing.
Dossiers of criminals with similar modus operandi were scanned and it came to light that a youth between the age of 18 and 20 years with long hairs was present at the stretch where Nandan was stabbed.
Police soon zeroed in on Khurshid, who was apprehended near Kali Mata Mandir, Ring Road, in Rohini Sector-3 on Thursday.
During sustained interrogation, Khurshid admitted to the crime andsaid that he committed the crime to earn a quick buck.
"Of the Rs 800 robbed by Khurshid, Rs 200 were recovered from him during arrest. The passport and ID card of deceased and the kitchen knife used for murder have also been recovered," police said.
