18-yr-old stabbed to death in Mangolpuri, culprit nabbed

An 18-year-old boy died after being stabbed 10 times while he was attending a jagran in Outer Delhi's Mangolpuri area on Wednesday.

The deceased, identified as Arjun, was rushed to Sanjay Gandhi hospital soon after the stabbing. However, due to the ongoing doctors' strike he was shifted to another hospital, where the doctors declared him brought dead.

The accused, Sahil, who lives in the same neighbourhood as the deceased, was caught by police on Thursday.

After killing Arjun, Sahil had gone on the run, but was soon tracked down by cops.

Arjun's body has been shifted to the mortuary and will be handed over to his relatives after conducting post-mortem examination.

According to police, they had received a PCR call informing them that Arjun was found lying in a pool of blood in Mangolpuri's U Block area.
The police deputed a team to investigate the case and soon made contact with the family.

The family informed police that Arjun had left his home to attend a jagran in the neighbourhood. While he was attending the programme, he was confronted by Sahil.

Sahil and Arjun reportedly had been fighting for a while over trivial issues. They had an argument on the day of Arjun's murder as well.

"After an argument ensued between the two of them, Sahil took out a sharp-edged weapon and stabbed the deceased youth multiple times and fled the spot," said a senior police official.

The parents of the deceased have alleged that they took their son to Sanjay Gandhi hospital, but had to shift him to another hospital due to the ongoing doctors' strike.

They said that if it weren't for the strike their son would be alive.

The victim's parents have also given the police the names of other people who may be involved.

The police are investigating the case from all angles.
