17 vehicles recovered, 3 nabbed in Shahdara

NEW DELHI: The Delhi Police arrested 3 thieves and recovered 17 stolen vehicles from their possession at Geeta Colony. They have been identofied as Viaks, Gaurav and Farid.

In September, specific information was received that Vikas was coming to Rani Garden Area, Delhi on a stolen motorcycle. Acting on the information, the team of Geeta Colony near Taj Enclave, Delhi, laid a trap. At about 9 PM, accused was intercepted and on further enquiry, failed to prove the ownership of the motorcycle. After checking, it came into notice that the vehicle in question was stolen from Adarsh Nagar. On sustained investigation, Vikas confessed his involvements in the theft of various motorcycles in the Delhi area along with his associates Gourav alias Bhindi and Farid alias Tahir.

After two months of sustained efforts to develop the information the crack team of Geeta Colony nabbed the remaining members of highly active auto-lifter gang Gourav and Farid were arrested and were taken on police custody remand and recovery of 17 stolen motorcycles along with cars has been affected on their instance. Recovered motorcycles have been stolen from Outer, North, Shahdara and East District.
