13 FIRs against six errant builders in Noida, Gr Noida

NOIDA: Following directions from the committee of three Uttar Pradesh ministers that met homebuyers and builders over the delay in handing over of flats in Noida and Greater Noida, Gautam Budh Nagar police on Saturday registered 13 FIRs against six errant builders on charges of cheating, based on complaints from over hundreds of buyers.
The builders include Amrapali Group, Supertech, Alpine Realtech Private Limited, Today home builder, JNC 'The Park Avenue' and BRUY Limited.
Eight of the 13 FIRs have been lodged against three directors of Amrapali Group, mostly for delay in handing over of flats.
The trio of Anil Sharma, Shiv Priya and Manoj Gupta has been charged under sections 420 and 406 of the IPC. Seven of the eight FIRs have been filed in Bisrakh police station, while one has been lodged in Sector-49 police station.
"Based on complaints by homebuyers, FIRs have been lodged against the builders. They are charged with fraud and criminal breach of trust. Strict actions will be followed" said Love Kumar, Senior Superintendent of Police, Gautam Budh Nagar.
Police said a total of 11 FIRs have been registered till now against Amrapali Group at Bisrakh police station, over various projects stuck in limbo.
Keeping in mind the interest of homebuyers, Uttar Pradesh Urban Housing minister Suresh Khanna on Thursday had directed senior police officials to file FIRs against builders if buyers lodge a complaint.
For long, homebuyers have been demanding that FIRs should be immediately lodged against builders, whose projects have been undelivered for years.
