10-year-old murdered in Ghaziabad

Ghaziabad: A 10-year-old son of a Ghaziabad-based trader, who was abducted by two persons on Saturday evening, was found dead in Niwari area Ghaziabad on Sunday morning. Cops said that the victim has been strangled to death.

According to police, the victim identified as Aditya Bansal, a native of Govindpuri area in Modinagar, was abducted by two men on a motorcycle around 8 pm on Saturday. "The kidnapping incident was captured in a CCTV camera where it can be clearly seen that the two men took victim on a motorcycle from near his house," a senior police officer said.

Neeraj Kumar Jadaun, Superintendent of Police (rural), Ghaziabad, told Millennium Post that the body was first spotted by a passerby who reported the matter to

police.

"Family members of the victim had lodged a missing complaint with police on late Saturday night and police teams searched nearby areas in look of the boy. Till late night, we failed to trace the child and on early Sunday morning, a PCR call was received who reported the matter. As we reached the spot, we found the body lying in a farm which was later identified by police," said Jadaun.

The officer further said that the boy was abducted from near his house by two unidentified men on a motorcycle.

"Preliminary investigations into the case revealed that the boy was kidnapped by two persons and they told him that they are looking for his father's shop and the innocent boy went along with them. The boy went untraceable after that while his body was found at a farm on the next morning. The body was sent for the post mortem, reports of which showed death by strangulation. We have registered an FIR into the incident while CCTV footage from nearby area has been recovered which will help us in identifying the culprits," added Jadaun.

Meanwhile victim's family denied of enmity with any person but police are yet to ascertain the reason for which the child was kidnapped and murdered as no ransom call was received.

Cops said that Victim's father runs a general store in Govindpuri area of Modinagar while his uncle is an advocate.
