10-year-old boy killed for resisting sexual assault bid

New Delhi: A 10-year-old child was kidnapped and later murdered in North West Delhi's Shalimar Bagh area.
Police claimed that they had arrested the accused who killed the child because he objected to unnatural sex. According to police, the accused identified as Manoj (35), is the native of Madhubani, Bihar and lives in North West Delhi. He was known to the family of the deceased. "On March 24, a boy aged 10 years was kidnapped from outside his home at the Hyderpur village by a known person named Manoj," said Deputy Commissioner of Police (North West) Aslam Khan.
DCP further claimed that without wasting time a case was registered under section 363 in police station Shalimar Bagh. Police started the investigation and scanned the CCTV footages of the area in which the kid was last seen with Manoj. Police conducted several raids and after an extensive search Manoj was finally nabbed at around 3:30 am on Sunday.
Police said after a thorough interrogation, he confessed that he had taken the kid to Bhalaswa drain on some pretext as the accused was known to the person the deceased child went with him. After reaching isolated place, the accused tried unnatural sex with him which was objected by the kid. The accused thought that the kid will reveal the incident to his family. "He smothered the kid and dumped his body in the drain," said a police officer. From the instance of accused, the police started a search and found the body. Post-mortem of the child has been conducted.
In February, a 25-year-old man killed a child in Jaitpur area. Police said the accused tried to get physical with the child. The child retaliated the move of the accused and threatened him that he will narrate this to his parents. The accused got scared and killed the child.
