Delhi voters asked to confirm details on electoral list

As the summary revision of voter list is in the final stage, the Chief Electoral Officer of Delhi has appealed to voters in the national Capital to check their details as published on the electoral list and get it rectified.

One can access the electoral list at designated public places and also on the website of the Office of the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Delhi.

“The summary revision of the electoral roll will conclude on October 30. Voters can get their details corrected till then. A final electoral list will be published on January 1, 2017,” said spokesperson at the CEO’s office. 

He added that the voters can check their names and details in the draft electoral roll even by sending an SMS. A voter needs to type ‘SMS EPIC <Space>Voter ID No>’ and send it to 1950 or 7738299899. Voters can also check their details at their designated locations such as voter centres of the Assembly constituency, the spokesperson said.

The CEO office has also provided separate application forms free of cost for various issues such as Form 6 for inclusion of name, Form 6A for enrollment of names of overseas electors, Form 7 for objection to an entry in the draft electoral roll and deletion of name and Form 8 for change of address within the constituency.  These forms can be obtained from designated offices and also from the website of the CEO’s office. 

“The draft electoral roll has been prepared after rationalisation of polling stations and integration of supplementary lists. As a result, serial numbers and polling station/ booth location of some electors might have changed,” said the spokesperson. 

The official added that the CEO office would organise special camps across the city to encourage the participationn of youth, women, and marginalised sections of the society in the electoral process.
